Roger Kelly, Tax Appraiser presented to <br />the Board the mandated time frames by the state for this process. <br />After some discussion Commissioner Matthews moved that a workshop be <br />held for the Commissioners to explain to them the use of the schedule <br />of values in revaluations. Commissioner Stafford seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />After further discussion, Commissioner Hall moved that a public <br />hearing be held on the schedule of values at the September 21, 1992 <br />Board of Commissioner's meeting at 7:00 p.m., or as soon as possible <br />thereafter on that evening, and that notebooks concerning the <br />schedule of values be placed at the Main library, Jonesboro branch, <br />and the Broadway branch for the public to view in addition to the <br />copy on file in the Tax Assessor's office. Commissioner Wicker <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Mike Gaster read a prepared statement from the Lee County <br />Area Farmers Association asking the Board of Commissioners to leave <br />the tobacco allotment out of the schedule of values in the Lee County <br />Ad Valorem Tax Base. No action was taken on this request. <br />The Board considered a request from the Tax Assessor to docket <br />judgments with the Clerk of Court for unpaid 1991 real estate taxes. <br />Nathan Crissman, Tax Assessor, answered questions of the Board. <br />After some discussion Commissioner Cox moved to authorize the Tax <br />Assessor to docket judgments with the Clerk of Superior Court for <br />unpaid 1991 taxes on real estate.
