There followed a general discussion which <br />involved all of the members of both Boards and discussed the school <br />needs and the County's fiscal position. Neither Board was presented <br />with a motion and neither Board took any official action during the <br />meeting. <br />After an hour and a half of discussion, Chairman Stafford <br />thanked the members of the Boards for their attention and <br />participation, and expressed the hope that the opportunity for free <br />and open discussion had been helpful to all. Chairperson Gurtis of <br />the Board of Education concurred that the meeting had produced <br />helpful dialogue and she invited the Board of Commissioners to meet <br />with the Board of Education at any time. <br />Upon motion made, which was duly seconded and unanimously <br />adopted, it was resolved to adjourn the meeting until 2:00 p.m. on <br />Wednesday, August 26, 1992, to reconvene in the Commissioners' Room <br />on the first floor of the Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, 27330.
