Rezoning Request - Sandra Thomas
The Planning Board unanimously recommends approval of Sandra
Thomas's petition to rezone 1.16 acres of land on the western side
of Highway 87 South at 100 Winstead Road from Residential
Restricted District to Highway Commercial Conditional Use District
for the location of a commercial produce stand. The Planning
Board in its deliberation cited that the property has adequate
access onto Highway 87 South and Winstead Road, that Ms. Thomas
resides on the property, and that this type of business would not
be intrusive in the residential area.
2. Rezoning Request - Steve Tysinger (SCT Developers)
The Planning Board unanimously recommends approval of Steve
Tysinger's (SCT Developers) petition to rezone 46.59 acres of land
at 5728 Peach Orchard Road, immediately northwest of the
previously approved Triple Lakes Subdivision Phase I, from
Residential Agricultural District to Residential Mixed Conditional
Use District for the location of Triple Lakes Subdivision Phase
II, a nine lot major subdivision. The Planning Board in its
deliberation cited that the adjoining property has been recently
rezoned to allow a major subdivision, and that the proposed nine
lot second subdivision phase would not adversely affect the
residential integrity of the area. The board also cited that the
proposed large subdivision lots allow for less intensive
development of the property and help prevent infringement upon the
overall agricultural nature of the area.
