WHEREAS, he is a member <br />regularly participates in the <br />and <br />BOOK 14 ~tCt W3 <br />) <br />6 <br />of St. Luke United Methodist Church and <br />programs and worship services there; <br />WHEREAS, he is married to Alisa O'Quinn Wicker and they have <br />twin sons, namely Quinn Edward Wicker and Jackson Dennis Wicker; and <br />WHEREAS, the people of Lee County have voted to elect Dennis <br />Alvin Wicker to the House of Representatives of the General Assembly <br />of North Carolina six times; and <br />WHEREAS, he has repaid their trust and confidence by rendering <br />outstanding service which has led to his appointment to many <br />influential committees and to the position of Majority Leader; and <br />WHEREAS, despite his successes and the accolades he has <br />received, he has remained the friendly, courteous and caring <br />individual whom we admire and trust; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee desire <br />to recognize the service rendered by this native son; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, William <br />Board of Commissioners for the <br />adopted by said Board do hereby <br />1992, be and the same is hereby <br />Lee County, North Carolina, and <br />in the scheduled activities and <br />Representative Wicker. <br />C. Stafford, Jr., Chairman of the <br />"-ounty of Lee pursuant to a resolution <br />proclaim that Tuesday, September 22, <br />designated as Dennis A. Wicker Day in <br />all citizens are urged to participate <br />recognition in honor of <br />This the 8th day of September, 1992. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to adopt the preceeding Resolution/ <br />Proclamation and for the Chairman to sign. Commissioner Reives <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Bob Joyce, Administrative Services Director gave the Board a <br />report on the Beulah Brown Road Project. No action was taken on this <br />matter. <br />The Board considered a request from the Board of Elections to <br />purchase a printer for printing voter labels for election candidates. <br />The Board of Elections will perform this service with the proper <br />equipment and set policies. After some discussion Commissioner <br />Reives moved to purchase the printer for $1,695 from the Contingency <br />6 <br />
