Following the Board's discussion <br />in executive session, Commissioner Matthews moved the executive <br />session be closed. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman moved the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to recess the meeting for dinner and to <br />reconvene at 7:00 P.M. for the scheduled public hearing. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and <br />the meeting recessed in keeping with the motion. <br />The meeting reconvened at 7:00 P.M. in the Commissioners' Room, <br />Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, with Commissioners Cox, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker in attendance. Commissioner Hall was not present. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the Board hold a joint public <br />hearing with the Lee County Planning Board on matters of mutual <br />concern as advertised and scheduled for this date and time. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Chairman invited the Planning Board members to join the <br />Commissioners for the joint public hearing. Mr. Leonard Barefoot, <br />Planning Director, presented the following: <br />a. Rezoning request by Wake Stone Corp. to rezone a total <br />of 173.18 acres of land on the northern side of Deep River Road <br />beginning 50 feet east of the intersection of Deep River Road and <br />West Forest Oaks Road, at Stone Quarry Road, on the property <br />currently being operated as a stone quarry by Wake Stone Corporation, <br />from Residential Agricultural District to Heavy Industrial District. <br />5 <br />
