ao 3 1 4 PnE 676 4 <br />River to the Deep River Park Association, a non-profit <br />corporation; and <br />WHEREAS, the General Statutes of North Carolina authorize <br />the County to convey such property to a non-profit corporation <br />such as Deep River Park Association; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Attorney has prepared a deed of <br />conveyance for said tracts of land to Deep River Park <br />Association with a conservation agreement, a copy of which <br />is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a <br />part hereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the County is agreeable to conveying said tracts <br />of land received from the State of North Carolina to Deep <br />River Park Association under the terms set forth in said <br />conservation agreement; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the proper officers <br />of the County are authorized and directed to accept and <br />record said deed from the State of North Carolina; and <br />IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman and Clerk are <br />authorized to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the <br />County a deed to Deep River Park Association for the lands <br />received from the State of North Carolina in the manner and <br />form of the deed prepared by the County Attorney. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request by Commissioner Paschal to exempt <br />six community buildings in the County that were billed a $66.00 <br />garbage fee but do not hold regular activities and have no garbage at <br />the buildings. Commissioner Paschal moved to have the $66.00 fee <br />removed from the tax records. Commissioner Wicker seconded the <br />motion. Discussion followed and Commissioner Paschal withdrew his <br />motion, and Commissioner Wicker withdrew his second of the motion. <br />No action was taken on the matter. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to enter into executive session to <br />discuss contractual and land acquisition matters. Commissioner Hall <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />4 <br />
