Lee Paving Company submitted a bid of $87,361 and <br />Sanford Grading Co., Inc. submitted a bid of $95,060.76. After some <br />discussion Commissioner Paschal moved to accept the bid from Lee <br />Paving Company at a negotiated price of $87,361. Commissioner Reives <br />seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from the North Carolina Wildlife <br />Association asking all counties to declare September 26, 1992 as <br />National Hunting and Fishing Day. Commissioner Hall moved to accept <br />the request. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. William Cowan, County Manager, gave the Board an update on a <br />quote for the county flag. Bowen Office Equipment Company has <br />offered to donate the first flag to the County and additional flags <br />will cost $370.58 each. <br />Mr. K. R. Hoyle, County Attorney passed out to Commissioners the <br />following resolution authorizing acceptance of Deed from the State of <br />North Carolina and conveyance of land to Deep River Park Association. <br />After some discussion commissioner Cox moved to approve the following <br />resolution. <br />WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina has tendered to the <br />County a deed which will convey to Lee County two tracts of <br />land which are surplus right-of-way parcels which provide a <br />means of access to the camelback truss bridge over Deep River <br />near the Village of Cumnock, a copy of said deed is attached to <br />these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina has agreed to convey <br />or transfer title to the camelback truss bridge over Deep <br />3 <br />
