19 <br />BOOK A PnsE <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Tuesday, September 29, 1992 <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />A special called meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 P.M. on <br />Tuesday, September 29, 1992, in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Those present were Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha <br />L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. <br />Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford declared a <br />quorum present and the meeting open for transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The Board considered vacant office space at the current <br />courthouse. After some discussion commissioner Reives moved to allow <br />the District Attorney's office to use the vacant space previously <br />used by the Board of Elections. Commissioner Paschal seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a change order for the courthouse/jail/law <br />enforcement center at a change of $5,635.00 to furnish and install <br />the new required sanitary sewer system on the west side of the court- <br />house. After some discussion Commissioner Hall moved to approve the <br />change order upon receiving a transmittal letter from Mr. Fitchett <br />stating prices have been checked and verified for the work and <br />requested the Chairman sign Change order # 01 from Armada/Hoffler <br />Construction Company showing the additional change order of <br />$5,635.00.
