14 pn'- 918 4 <br />The Board considered bids for lease/financing of voting <br />tabulator machines. John Crumpton, Finance Director recommended that <br />Southern National Leasing Company, Charlotte, North Carolina be <br />awarded the bid at the fixed interest rate of 4.46 per cent. Others <br />submitting bids were the following: <br />Security Capital Corp., Atlanta Georgia - 5.80 per cent <br />First Citizens Bank, Raleigh, NC - 5.65 per cent <br />Wachovia Bank & Trust, Sanford, NC - 4.79 per cent <br />BB&T, Raleigh, NC - 7 per cent <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to accept the bid for Southern National <br />Leasing Company at the interest rate of 4.46 per cent. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board consider a recommendation to declare 32 voting <br />machines surplus and authorize they be advertised for sale. After <br />some discussion Commissioner Matthews moved to declare the 32 voting <br />machines surplus property and authorized to advertize for sale. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox introduced and moved the adoption of a <br />proclamation with respect to Lee County Family Day on October 24, <br />1992, a copy of which is attached to these minutes, and upon this <br />reference, made a part hereof. Commissioner Hall seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />4 <br />
