u <br />DOOM 11 Pr..s= 916 <br />0 2 <br />The Board considered Tax Releases and Refunds for August, 1992, <br />set out in the Tax Release Reports attached to these minutes and by <br />this reference made a part hereof. Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax <br />Administrator answered questions of the Board. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Cox moved to approve the Tax Releases and Refunds for <br />August, 1992. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a proposal to purchase a market based <br />revaluation software program with multiple regression analysis and <br />comparable properties analysis capability. Chairman Stafford <br />discussed with the Board a recent trip that he, William Cowan, John <br />Crumpton, Nathan Crissman and Roger Kelly took to Atlanta to observe <br />and discuss this software program with representatives from <br />Cole-Layer-Trumble Company. After much discussion Commissioner Hall <br />moved to adopt the recommendation to proceed with the program with <br />the required $45,800 for the equipment coming from the Fund Balance. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution to study the feasibility of <br />constructing and operating a joint landfill with the Chatham County <br />Board of Commissioners. After some discussion Commissioner Cox moved <br />to adopt the following resolution: <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CHATHAM COUNTY'S INVITATION TO <br />DISCUSS THE FEASIBILITY OF A JOINT LANDFILL <br />WHEREAS, the Chatham County Board of Commissioners on September <br />21, 1992, issued an invitation to the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners to enter into discussions concerning the feasibility of <br />a joint landfill for the two counties; and <br />WHEREAS, Lee County is rapidly filling its existing landfill <br />and must begin to search for a new landfill site; and <br />WHEREAS, a joint effort to site one landfill by Lee County <br />and Chatham County could substantially reduce cost to the taxpayers <br />of both jurisdictions; and <br />2 <br />
