14 <br />Bm tA, pnz 5a1 <br />Bylaws <br />Page. 2 <br />2. Members are to have a basic knowledge of the Fort Bragg/Pope Air <br />Force Base region's physical, social, and economic makeup. In <br />addition, a basic understanding of the planning process and land use <br />planning, in particular, is recommended. <br />3. Terms: <br />a. Except for those appointments made by position of the <br />appointee, no member may serve more than two <br />consecutive terms; <br />b. The length of one term shall be determined in <br />accordance with the policies of the appointing body, but <br />in no case shall one term exceed three (3) years. <br />4. Composition: <br />a. The Fort Bragg/Pope Air Force Base Regional Land Use <br />Advisory Commission is made up of 21 voting members <br />as follows: Cumberland County - 3, Harnett County - <br />3, Hoke County - 3, Moore County - 3, Lee County' - 1, <br />Montgomery County - 1, Richmond County - 1, Sampson <br />County - 1, Scotland County - 1, Fort Bragg - 2, and <br />Pope Air Force Base - 2. <br />b. Ex officio members may be named by the appointing <br />body as they deem necessary. <br />ARTICLE 5 - MEETINGS <br />Meetings - Meetings will be held on the third Thursday of odd <br />numbered months. <br />2. Attendance - Attendance is mandatory. If an appointee is absent <br />from more than three (3) consecutive meetings or four (4) in a <br />calendar year, and such absences are not caused by extraordinary <br />events, the member is obligated to resign in writing. <br />3. Public - All regular and special meetings, hearings, records, and <br />accounts of the Commission shall be open to the public, and meetings <br />shall be advertised. <br />
