:600V 14 ~516,i <br />Annie Laura Pomeranz had contacted his office and asked him to extend <br />her appreciation to the Board of Commissioners on the assistance they <br />have supplied in reference to the Cultural Arts Center. <br />Commissioner Hall moved to enter into Executive Session to <br />discuss personnel matters and a land acquisition. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously, and <br />the Board was in executive session. Following the Board's discussion <br />in executive session, Commissioner Cox moved that the executive <br />session be closed. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Stafford made a motion to agree to a contract with <br />Brown Management Associates (BMA) Technologies, Inc. (parent company <br />of Floyd Brown and Associates) to purchase the water plant located on <br />Cumnock Road for the sum of the outstanding bank loan balance, plus <br />$50,000, with an anticipated closing date on or about February 28, <br />1993, and an estimated purchase price of approximately $1,516,543. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford expressed appreciation to commissioner Cox and <br />Commissioner Hall for all their help on the Board and wished them <br />the best in the future. <br />Commissioner Cox expressed to the Board his enjoyment for <br />serving on the Lee County Board of Commissioners. He stated he had <br />respect for the Board's intellect and knowledge of County Government <br />and wished the Board continued success. <br />Commissioner Hall expressed to the Board his enjoyment also of <br />serving on the Lee County Board of Commissioners and serving with <br />each Commissioner. He stated it had been a learning process and he <br />had learned much that he could take to Raleigh to the House of <br />7 <br />
