3. That the Chairman or vice chairman of this Board is <br />authorized to execute and deliver and the Clerk to the Board is <br />authorized to attest a Quick Claim Deed or such other instrument as <br />may be necessary or appropriate to relinquish any claim of Lee County <br />to such property. <br />4. The Clerk to the Board is authorized and directed to publish <br />a notice of the County's intention to reconvey said property as <br />required by General Statute 153A-177. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman moved the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of a bid for O.T. Sloan Pool <br />renovation. Mr. John Crumpton, Finance Director presented to the <br />Board a proposal from Carolina Pools, Inc. to repair the O.T. Sloan <br />Park swimming pool for a total cost of $54,400.00. This was the only <br />bid received during the two bidding processes. The Parks and <br />Recreation Department had only budgeted $52,000.00 for this project. <br />After some discussion commissioner Dossenbach moved to accept the bid <br />of $54,400.00 from Carolina Pools, Inc. with the stipulation that the <br />balance of $2,400.00 needed to complete the project will come from <br />the Parks and Recreation's current budget. Commissioner Garner <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and <br />Stafford <br />Nay: Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one <br />vote. <br />The Board recessed for lunch. Following lunch, commissioner <br />Reives gave a report on a recent Finance Committee meeting where much <br />discussion was held concerning the school's facility needs at the two <br />middle schools. He presented to the Board several motions that were <br />discussed by the Committee members. After much discussion <br />Commissioner Garner moved to table the matter until the next Board of <br />commissioners meeting on December 21, 1992, to send copies of the <br />Finance Committee's December 4, 1992 minutes to the Board of <br />Education showing that $334,000 is available from the fund balance <br />for six permanent classrooms at each middle school, and request <br />information from the Board of Education by the December 21, 1992 <br />8 <br />
