0 BqV 11 =:sr 99540 <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Chairman invited members of the Northview Volunteer Fire <br />Department to join the Commissioners for a joint public hearing to <br />discuss hiring a full time fire fighter for the department. Roger <br />Millikin, President of the Northview Volunteer Fire Department <br />presented to the Board a survey of local businesses expressing their <br />agreement for the department to hire this individual. <br />Joel Lemmond, who has power of attorney for his 93 year old <br />father who owns land in the Northview district, was the only <br />individual to speak against the request. <br />Those speaking in favor of the request were Roger Milliken, <br />President of the Northview Volunteer Fire Department; Steve Cotten, <br />of 215 Cotten Road and Walter Campbell of 209 Cotten Road. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to close the public hearing with <br />the Northview Volunteer Fire Department. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the Board hold joint public <br />hearings with the Lee County Planning Board on matters of mutual <br />concern as advertised and scheduled for this date and time. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Chairman invited the Planning Board members to join the <br />Commissioners for the joint public hearings. Mr. Bob Joyce, Interim <br />Planning Director, presented the following: <br />a. Rezoning request submitted by Jack Maxwell to rezone <br />from Residential Agricultural District to Residential Restricted <br />District 82.34 acres of land, excluding the portion which is <br />currently zoned Highway Commercial District, at the southwestern <br />corner of Jefferson Davis Highway and Cedar Lane Road. <br />Mr. Jack Maxwell of Sanford was the only individual speaking in <br />7 <br />
