rq II p>rr 594 <br />6 <br />Manager, William Cowan, introduced to the Board Robert Dowless who <br />will begin employment with the County on January 4, 1993, as the <br />Parks and Recreation Director. <br />The Board considered a representative to the Ft. Bragg/Pope Air <br />Force Base Regional Land Use Advisory Commission. Commissioner <br />Stafford moved to nominate Mr. Max Matthews as the Lee County <br />representative to the Ft. Bragg/Pope Air Force Base Regional Land Use <br />Advisory Commission. Commissioner Matthews asked permission from the <br />Board and abstained from voting. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford passed out Board appointments for the upcoming <br />year, a copy of which is attached to these minutes, and upon this <br />reference, made a part hereof. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to delete the seven community <br />buildings in the County (Broadway, Deep River, Tempting, Beavers <br />Creek, Carbonton and Dignus) from having to pay the County solid <br />waste fee collections of $66.00/year. Upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Garner moved that next December County employees be <br />paid one week prior to the Christmas holiday. Commissioner <br />Dossenbach amended the motion that it be sent to the Finance <br />Committee for consideration. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved that the Board hold joint public <br />hearings with the Northview Volunteer Fire Department on matters of <br />mutual concern as advertised and scheduled for this date and time. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />6 <br />
