Boos 1 Pr~~ X91 <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal and Stafford <br />Nay: Reives <br />3 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted with a five to <br />one vote. <br />The Board considered a resolution for Wendy Lane to be added to <br />the North Carolina Department of Transportation System. Commissioner <br />Matthews moved to accept the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ADDITION <br />OF WENDY LANE TO THE NORTH CAROLINA <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners recognizes the <br />importance of good roads within Lee County; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners to promote the development of roads by paving streets <br />to serve local residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners has received a <br />request to pave a 0.26 mile section of Wendy Lane to better serve the <br />residents of that area; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners that it would be in the public interest for the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation to pave the street as <br />requested: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS that the North Carolina Department of Transportation be <br />requested to pave the 0.26 mile section of Wendy Lane to serve the <br />residents of the area and that the cost of said paving be taken from <br />the North Carolina Department of Transportation Discretionary Road <br />Fund. <br />Adopted this 21st day of December, 1992. <br />Commissioner Garner seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />3 <br />
