Cl 02 <br />LEE COU NTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />BUDGET WORK SESSION <br />OF THE _ <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS = <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE _ <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JUNE 1. 2011 <br />The budget work session of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 3 p.m. in the Gordon Wicker Conference ° _Room, First Floor, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina=on saiddate. Commissioners present <br />were Richard B. Hayes, Larry "Doc' Oldham, Charlie T. Parks, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, Linda <br />A. Shook, and James K. Womack, Jr. Staff present included County_Manager John Crumpton, County <br />Attorney K. R. Hoyle, Assistant County Manager /Finance Director Lisa Min ter, and Clerk to the Board <br />Gaynell M. Lee. <br />Chairman Shook called the meeting to order <br />Commissioner Parks delivered the invocation. - — <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />School Superintende was present7and joined Commissioners for budget discussion. <br />Mr. Moss stated that "riff - letters were sent out on Tuesday, June 1 st to one hundred twenty -six (126) <br />school employees that theif_position=will be eliminated in the upcoming year unless funding is restored from <br />the State and /or county. M M oss = further - sta ted he needed $800,000 of county funding to keep Teacher <br />Assistant positions. Commissioners had numerous budget and school questions for Mr. Moss. <br />After discussion, Commissio were asked to furnish the County Manager with questions for the <br />Superinten the Chairman Shook's signature) for future discussion. A joint meeting of the two <br />boards is Monday, June 13` from 10 a.m. -12 noon in the Gordon Wicker Conference Room <br />at the.L°ee County Government Center. <br />o <br />With further business to come before the Board, Commissioner Womack moved to adjourn the work <br />session.
