Install rock baffle on upstream side to direct low flow into only one
barrel.
Re-design outlet dissipater that will minimize rip rap length. Construct
new outlet dissipator and remove excess rip rap downstream of culvert.
Culvert #3:
Remove rip rap from stream bottom on upstream end of culvert. During the recent
field visits by the USACE, recommendations were provided to the County for restoration.
The following actions are proposed for these three non-permitted crossings:
Culvert #2:
Remove rip rap outlet dissipater as constructed. Install rip rap lined
`plunge pool' per USACE guidance.
Culvert #5:
Design an arch bridge to replace the existing 48" pipe (please see
enclosed schematic sketches of proposed bridge).
Design a stream restoration plan for the entire impact reach. The
restoration will mimic original longitudinal grade and cross-sectional
geometry. The bridge footings must be outside the restored stream bank.
Remove 48" pipe and rip rap channel and construct improvements.
-3-
