B. <br />_ Information <br />X Action Item <br />Meeting Date: August 13, 2007 _ Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: FY 2005 Community Development Block Grant Funds <br />Administration <br />CONTACT PERSON: John Crumpton, County Manager <br />REQUEST: Requesting authorization to send letter to the Department of <br />Community Assistance to notify them that the County will not be <br />participating in the FY 2005 Community Development Block Grant <br />Funds. <br />SUMMARY: Due to problems encountered with the FY 2002 Community <br />Development Block Grant Fund project, the County has not been <br />able to access the FY 2005 Community Development Block Grant <br />Funds. While these problems have been resolved, the project can <br />not be closed until our financial statement for the year ending June <br />30, 2007 is received by the State. The report will not be ready until <br />November. The FY 2005 grant funds must be spent by December <br />31, 2007. Based on the timing for the closeout of the FY 2002 grant <br />fund, it does not appear that the FY 2005 funds could be spent prior <br />to December 31, 2007; therefore, it is requested that the Finance <br />Committee approve the recommendation to send a letter to DCA to <br />relinquish the FY 2005 grant funds. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): None <br />PUBLIC HEARING: None <br />PRIOR BOARD ACTION: None <br />Authorize Chairman to send letter to DCA relinquishing the FY 2005 <br />grantfunds. <br />
