E *11 <br />BOO.; 15 ;?ppr. 18 <br />5 <br />The Board considered acceptance of low bid for lease purchase <br />financing of the Floyd Browne & Associates water plant and <br />Operational Services Building. John Crumpton, Finance Director <br />answered questions of the Board. The following bids were received: <br />Bidder Name & Address Primary Bid <br />Security Capital 6.398% <br />Atlanta, Georgia <br />Southern National Leasing 5.37% <br />Charlotte, NC <br />First Citizens Leasing 4.99% <br />Raleigh, NC <br />After some discussion Commissioner Dossenbach moved to accept the <br />recommendation of the Finance Director to accept Southern National <br />Leasing's bid of 5.37% to finance the Floyd Brown & Associates water <br />plant. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered accepted of low bid for lease purchase <br />financing of the construction of an Operational Services Building. <br />After some discussion Commissioner Paschal moved to accept the <br />recommendation of the Finance Director to accept the low bid of 5.37% <br />from Southern National Leasing to finance the operational services <br />Building. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. William Cowan, County Manager, gave a report to the Board on <br />the possible consolidation of city and county planning and inspection <br />functions. Mr. Cowan recommended that Chairman Stafford be <br />authorized to appoint a ten-member ad hoc committee with <br />representatives from Lee County, City of Sanford and Broadway with <br />the charge to study and make recommendations concerning the proposed <br />consolidation of said agencies. After some discussion commissioner <br />Garner moved to accept the County Manager's recommendation for the <br />Chairman of the Lee County Board of Commissioners to appoint a <br />ten-member ad hoc committee.
