BOOK 15 ~i 25 <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered recommended uses for refund allowances from <br />the property and liability self-insurance pool fund. Mr. Bobby <br />Johnson, Public Works Director, and Chairman of the County Safety <br />Committee, appeared before the Board and answered questions. After <br />some discussion Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the $12,009.00 <br />which was the Safety Committee's recommendation for expenditures from <br />property and liability self-insurance fund. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a reduction in the hours of operation for <br />selected solid waste convenience centers. Mr. Bobby Johnson, Public <br />Works Director, discussed with the Board a recent study completed <br />concerning the hours of operation of convenience centers for the <br />period July - December, 1992, and the placement of a scaled down <br />convenience facility in the Cumnock Community and Lower River Road. <br />After some discussion Commissioner Matthews moved that all centers be <br />closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, the Colon Road and Woodland <br />Trails centers be closed on Wednesdays, and the Carbonton Road center <br />be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A cost estimate for a proposed <br />scaled down facility in Cumnock and Lower River Road will be <br />discussed at the next Buildings, Grounds and Utilities meeting. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the appointment of a Board of Equalization <br />and Review for Lee County. Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax Administrator, <br />was present and answered questions of the Board. Commissioner <br />Matthews moved that the Lee County Board of Commissioners serve as <br />the Equalization and Review Board. Commissioner Dossenbach made a <br />substitute motion that the matter be tabled until the next meeting <br />and voted upon at that time.
