0
goo 15 F,0,_ 38
The Board considered approval of a Resolution approving the
closing documents with Floyd Browne Associates for the purchase of a
water plant near Cumnock. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle appeared
before the Board and explained that Lee County already owns the land
where the Floyd Browne Associates plant is located and needs to
acquire title to the buildings, fixtures, etc. After some discussion
commissioner Garner moved to approve the closing documents for the
purchase of the water plant, a copy of which is attached to these
minutes, and upon this reference, made a part hereof. Upon a vote,
the results were as follows:
Aye: Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker
Nay: None
The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously.
The Board considered an ordinance establishing water rates for
the Lee County Water System. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle explained
to the Board that our Bond Counsel has recommended the County have a
commercial rate that applies equally to all customers in that
classification. The proposed rate makes the Golden Poultry Company,
Inc., rate available to all commercial customers, but keeps the
County consistent with the contractual obligations to Golden Poultry.
After some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the
following ordinance for water rates:
ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County,
North Carolina as follows:
A. That the rate schedule for all residential customers of
the Lee County Water System shall be a graduated rate based upon
quantity used per month in terms of 1,000 gallon units or fraction
thereof, with a minimum charge of $9.00 for any amount up to 2,500
gallons as follows:
Gallons Used
Per Month
Minimum bill (0 - 2,500)
2,501 - 6,000
6,001 - 15,000
15,001 - 40,000
Over 40,000
B.
