0 ROOK 15 'rAC€ 08 023 <br />4,~, zr ~ a f i, <br />cal <br />~ <br />s It- <br />Y ~ i( r1 yiy <br />C`~ e irr CITOixntg ~Ovarb of C aminissioners <br />~~sniixtt~x~ <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Billy Ray Cameron has resigned his position with Lee County as Director of Emergency Services effective <br />as of March 22, 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Cameron began his employment with Lee County on July 1, 1971, as its Civil Defense Director and has <br />guided said program as it evolved and grew from Civil Defense to CiviL Preparedness to Emergency Management; and <br />WHEREAS, as Director of Emergency Services he has supervised Emergency Management, the Ambulance Service, and <br />Emergency Medical Services, and in addition thereto he has served as Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator; and <br />is <br />•i <br />WHEREAS, in addition to his public service, he has been an active participant in community affairs having served as a <br />coach in Parks and Recreation Department programs, as a leader in veterans affairs as evidenced by his election as <br />National Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, as a political leader who served as a valued advisor on numerous <br />campaigns for offices on the county, district, and statewide levels; and <br />WHEREAS, His Excellency, the Governor of the State of North Carolina has appointed Mr. Cameron to be Director of the <br />Division of Emergency Management in the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for Lee County wishes to recognize and acknowledge the dedicated and loyal service <br />Mr. Cameron has given to the people of Lee County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County as follows: <br />Section 1. That it publicly acknowledges the valuable services rendered by Mr. Billy Ray Cameron to the people of Lee <br />County as a public servant and as a private citizen and expresses its gratitude to him for such service. <br />Section 2. That it wishes for Mr. Cameron continued success in his service to the people of the State of North <br />Carolina. <br />Section 3. That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting of this Board and a copy be <br />presented to Mr. Cameron. <br />This the 19th day of March, 1993. <br />William C.
