Commissioner Matthews <br />moved to approve road petitions for Wagon Trail Road, Lee Loop Road, <br />Laws Road and Harrington Place to the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Joyce stated the Planning Board unanimously recommended that <br />the Board of Commissioners approve amendments to The Zoning Ordinance <br />of Lee County, North Carolina defining a solid waste convenience <br />center and a solid waste transfer station. The proposed zoning <br />ordinance amendments would allow these facilities to locate in areas <br />zoned Light Industrial and Heavy Industrial District when certain <br />regulations such as the location of buffers and landscaping are <br />present. No vote was required. <br />The Board discussed appointments to Boards and Commissions for <br />the coming year. Chairman Stafford explained to the Board that <br />appointments would be made in executive session at the first meeting <br />in June, posted for ten days with the Clerk to the Board and <br />announced at the second meeting in June. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved that the Board proceed to hold a <br />public hearing on Nova Medical Transport's, Inc.'s application to be <br />granted a renewal of its franchise to operate a non-emergency and <br />convalescent ambulance service in Lee County. <br />Following discussion of the motion, the chairman called for a <br />vote and the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by an unanimous <br />08 <br />7 <br />
