0 -0 010 boos 15 pAu ib"2 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, requesting that a special election be called to establish a rural fire protection district in the portion of the Cameron Fire District which lies in Lee County; and WHEREAS, the petition has been examined and it has been determined that the petition contains more than thirty-five percent (350) of the resident freeholders living in the area; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has a duty to call said election under N. C. General Statute 69-25.1; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee as follows: 1. The question whether the qualified voters in the area described in the petition and designated as the Lee County portion of the Cameron Fire District shall approve or disapprove the levying and collecting a special tax on all taxable property in said district of not exceeding fifteen cents of the $100.00 valuation of property for the purpose of providing fire protection in said district shall be submitted to the qualified voters of said district residing in Lee County, at a special election to be held on July 13, 1993. 2. The Lee County Board of Elections is hereby directed to hold and conduct the election in said district and shall advertise and conduct said election in accordance with Article 3A entitled "Rural Fire Protection District" of Chapter 69 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, and with procedures prescribed in Chapter 163 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, governing the conduct of special and general elections. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. 4
