0 -0 <br />Oos <br />coos 15 PF,u Ib <br />The Board made an appointment to the Social Services Board to <br />replace Mr. Freeman worthy whose term of office has expired. <br />Commissioner Dossenbach nominated Ralph Watson and Commissioner <br />Reives nominated Rev. Henry Melvin. Chairman Stafford asked that <br />each Board member vote by secret ballot and pass to County Attorney <br />K.R. Hoyle. After tabulating the votes, Mr. Hoyle informed the Board <br />that Ralph Watson had received four votes and Rev. Melvin had <br />received three votes. Commissioner Paschal moved to appoint Ralph <br />Watson to the Lee County Department of Social Services Board. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one <br />vote. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the new conference room at the <br />Lee County Government Center be dedicated as the Gordon A. Wicker <br />Community Conference Room (the dedication ceremony had been held <br />before the Board of Commissioners meeting). Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an Interlocal Agreement establishing the <br />City of Sanford/Lee County Planning and Inspection Departments. <br />County Manager William Cowan went over the agreement and answered <br />questions of the Board. After some discussion Commissioner Garner <br />moved to approve the Interlocal Agreement establishing the City of <br />Sanford/Lee County Planning and Inspection Departments. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an election in the Cameron Fire District <br />for collecting a special tax for fire protection. County Attorney K. <br />R. Hoyle discussed the matter with the Board. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Matthews moved the approval of the following Resolution: <br />3 <br />
