Commissioner Wicker left the meeting at this time. <br />The Board considered bids for the Operational Services Center <br />Project. It was reported that John William Brown Company was the <br />low bidder for this project at $664,900.00, which included the base <br />bid and alternates 1, 2 and 3. After some discussion Commissioner <br />Dossenbach moved to accept the low bid from John William Brown <br />Company for $664,900.00 and proceed with the project. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, and Stafford <br />Nay: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had carried with a five to one <br />vote. <br />The Board considered a recommendation from the Health Department <br />to increase Environmental Health Fees. After some discussion it was <br />decided to invite Health Director Eugene Hines and the Chairman of <br />the Health Board to the next Board of Commissioners meeting to <br />discuss the issue. <br />The Board considered a funding request for $20,000.00 from Joe <br />McDonald, incoming President of the Temple Theater, for the 1993-94 <br />fiscal year. Commissioner Garner moved to approve the $20,000.00 <br />request. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been approved unanimously. <br />The Board considered a funding request for $5,000.00 from Lee <br />County Industries for the 1993-94 fiscal year. Commissioner Paschal <br />moved to approve the $5,000.00 request. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been approved unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from Mid-Carolina Council of <br />Governments in reference to Aging and EMS contracts. County Manager <br />William Cowan discussed this matter with the Board and explained <br />there would be no financial advantage to make a change. After some <br />discussion Commissioner Garner moved to leave the contracts as they <br />currently are.
