0 <br />(BOOK P46f <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />J <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />AUGUST 2, 1993 <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, <br />August 2, 1993, in the Commissioner's Room, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present <br />were Commissioners John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Bertha <br />L. Matthews; Nathan E. Paschal; Robert T. Reives; and William C. <br />Stafford, Jr. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker was in the hospital and <br />and unable to attend. <br />Chairman Stafford presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />Commissioner Ed Paschal delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. Chairman Stafford <br />asked that the appointment to the mid-Carolina Regional Development <br />Authority listed under Unfinished Business be deleted. Commissioner <br />Matthews asked that a report be given on the cable franchise for the <br />Lemon Springs/Swann Station area. County Manager William Cowan asked <br />that a Resolution be considered for the County's Cost Allocation <br />Plan, and Commissioner Reives asked that discussion be allowed for <br />the new Zoning ordinance rule regarding underpinning of mobile homes. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the agenda as printed with the <br />above changes. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the Annual Secondary Road Construction <br />Program for Lee County. Messrs J. A. Clendenin and F. E. Whitesell, <br />from the Department of Transportation were present to present the <br />plan and answered questions from the Board. After much discussion <br />Commissioner Dossenbach moved to accept the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />anticipated a July, 1993, allocation of $159,252 in Secondary <br />Construction and $89,110 in Secondary Road Trust Funds for a total of <br />$248,362 for the forthcoming construction season and a public meeting <br />01 <br />1 <br />
