Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered requests for proposals for the landfill <br />closure and demolition landfill permits. Bobby Johnson, Public Works <br />Director and County Manager William Cowan discussed the proposals, <br />answered questions of the Board and recommended that McKim & Creed <br />from Cary, North Carolina be awarded the proposal. Commissioner <br />Matthews moved to accept the recommendation of the County Manager to <br />award the proposal to McKim & Creed for the landfill closure and <br />demolition landfill permits. Richard Hobson gave the Board an update on the "Smart <br />Start" program and thanked the Board for their support. <br />The Board considered a Proclamation by the Governor of the State <br />of North Carolina proclaiming September 25, 1993, as National Hunting <br />and Fishing Day in Lee County. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve <br />the the Proclamation, a copy of which is attached to these minutes <br />and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered budget amendment # 09/03/93/03 for the <br />Schools Capital Outlay Budget.
