book 15 Parr 351 ~ l <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />SEPTEMBER 3, 1993 <br />The special called meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 A.M. on <br />Friday, September 3, 1993, in the Commissioner's Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />Those present were Commissioners John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert <br />J Garner; Bertha L. Matthews; Nathan E. Paschal; Robert T. Reives; <br />William C. Stafford, Jr.; and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Chairman Stafford presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />Rev. Richard Hobson delivered the invocation. <br />The Board reviewed the draft of the minutes of the regular <br />August 16, 1993, meeting. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the <br />minutes as the official record of said meeting. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the approval of the August 18, 1993, <br />Building, Grounds & Utilities Committee meeting. Commissioner <br />Matthews, Chairperson for the Committee, asked that a clarification <br />be made to the minutes and resubmitted at the next meeting for <br />approval. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. The following <br />items were asked to be placed on the agenda: risk control <br />recommendations on the Arts Center; demolition debris of the old <br />Southern National Bank building to the county landfill; endorsement <br />to the Cooperative Extension Service for the implementation of an <br />educational tour for the rural areas of Lee County; for the Chairman <br />to appoint two Commissioners to work with the Planning Department on <br />the 1990 census for voter redistricting; discussion of a tax matter; <br />approve a Proclamation proclaiming September 25, 1993, as National <br />Hunting and Fishing Day in Lee County; and a report on the progress <br />1 <br />
