She told
the Board the Arts Committee is trying to get a realistic figure so
they can start soliciting money from interested citizens.
Commissioner Dossenbach expressed concerns as to whether the report
would include electrical, mechanical and structural reports for this
amount of money. After much discussion it was decided to discuss
this at the next meeting on October 4, 1993; request a letter from
Leland Associates, addressed to the Board of Commissioners, telling
them exactly what will be done in the study. The County Manager was
instructed to contact other firms that have been involved with this
building and extend to them the opportunity to submit a Request For
Proposal for the same services if they so desire.
The Board considered a Resolution to declare library books,
records, tapes and other qualifying property to be surplus; to set
the fair market value of such property and sell the property.
Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the following Resolution:
WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160-A266(c)
permits Board of Commissioners to adopt regulations or policies under
which specific administrators, without need of further board action,
may dispose of personal property worth less than $500.00 for any one
item or group of similar items; and
WHEREAS, the Lee County Library has a supply of used books
which are surplus to its needs and will bring only a modest price per
book;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY as follows:
Section 1.
Mr. Mike Matochik, Library Administrator, is hereby designated
as the administrative official in the Lee County Library System with
the continuing authority to:
(a) declare books, records, tapes and other qualifying
property to be surplus;
(b) set the fair market value of such property;
(c) sell the property by private sale; and
(d) convey title to the property
3
