0 aooj 15 407 <br />The Board considered a change order in the amount of $2,475.00 <br />for the Courthouse project. Architect Ed Fitchett was present and <br />explained to the Board the need for the change order. Commissioner <br />Garner moved to approve the change order in the amount of $2,475.00 <br />to avoid delaying the project. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board observed a short recess. Upon returning from the <br />recess, with all members present, the Board held a joint meeting with <br />members of the Lee County School Board to discuss the School <br />Administration Building. Interim School Superintendent James P. <br />Harrell and School Board Member Phil Yarborough were present and <br />answered questions of the Board. After much discussion Commissioner <br />Garner moved to appropriate up to a maximum of $3 million for the <br />construction of needed facilities at East and West Lee Middle Schools <br />and for the construction of an Administrative Building on the Bragg <br />Street School site. The Board of Education is to work cooperatively <br />with the County Manager and the Board of commissioners in developing <br />required procedures, agreements and in preparing local legislation to <br />support this project. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request to rescind back taxes for Mr. <br />Douglas Dacko of 2634 Wellington Drive, Sanford. Tax Administrator <br />Nathan Crissman was present and answered questions of the Board. <br />After some discussion Commissioner Garner moved to rescind the <br />$1,547.52 for back taxes and bill Mr. Dacko for $421.60. After <br />further discussion commissioner Paschal moved to amend the motion to <br />bill Mr. Dacko for two years back taxes and do away with two years <br />back taxes. Upon a vote of the amended motion the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Paschal <br />Nay: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the amended motion failed with a six to one <br />vote. <br />Upon a vote of the original motion the results were as follows: <br />04 <br />4 <br />
