0 0 <br />booK 15 pmi 431 <br />The Board considered a request from the Solid Waste Department <br />to accept contributions towards the establishment of a plastics <br />recycling program at Lee County's convenience centers. Recycling <br />Coordinator John Payne was present and answered questions of the <br />Board. After some discussion Commissioner Matthews moved to approve <br />contributions totaling $7,800.00 towards the establishment of a <br />plastics recycling program at Lee County's convenience centers. Upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from <br />accept a donation of one bullet-proof <br />commissioner Paschal moved to accept the <br />vest valued at $350.00. Commissioner Reives moved to rescind back taxes of <br />$271.44 for Mr. Conrad Davis and $1,143.36 for Mr. Steve Shook. Upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard a report from Ms. Chrystal Harris Stowe from the <br />N.C. Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management Authority regarding <br />facility design and safety issues and the schedule for preferred site <br />selection of a low-level radioactive waste facility to possibly be <br />constructed in Wake or Richmond County. She also answered questions <br />of the Board concerning two public hearings that will be held on <br />October 26, 1993, in Raleigh, and October 29, 1993, in Richmond <br />County, and an Authority meeting which will be held October 27, 1993, <br />in Raleigh. <br />The Board considered an Agreement for Dietitian services for the <br />Lee County Jail. After some discussion Commissioner Garner moved to <br />approve an Agreement for Dietitian services for the Lee County Jail, <br />04 <br />4 <br />
