Plank Road <br />and Little Governors Creek at the Moore County line, thence <br />east along the boundary line of District 3 to the boundary <br />line of District 1, thence north along the boundary line of <br />District 1 to the boundary line of District 2, thence north <br />along the boundary line of District 2 to the intersection <br />of the Deep River and Hawkins Avenue (U.S. 15-501). <br />Section 2. This amendment redefining the electoral district <br />boundaries shall be effective upon preclearance pursuant to Section 5 <br />of the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965. <br />Section 3. Except as amended herein, the resolution adopted <br />on June 26, 1989, altering the structure of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners remains in full force and effect. <br />Section 4. The County Attorney is directed to request <br />expedited consideration of this change by the Attorney General of the <br />United States. <br />Section S. This resolution shall be published in full upon <br />its adoption. <br />Section 6. Not later than ten (10) days after the date on <br />which the resolution becomes effective, the Clerk shall file <br />certified true copies of this resolution in the Secretary of State's <br />office, in the office of the Register of Deeds of Lee County, with <br />the Chairman of the Lee County Board of Elections, in the Supreme <br />Court Library, and in the Legislative Library. <br />Section 7. Not later than ten (10) days after the date on <br />which the resolution becomes effective, the County Attorney shall <br />file with the Director of the office of Administrative Hearings all <br />letters and other documents received by Lee County authorities from <br />the Attorney General of the United States in which a final decision <br />is made concerning the submitted change affecting voting pursuant to <br />North Carolina Gen.
