Stat. 153A-22 provides that when
such inequality of population among electoral districts exists, that
the Board of Commissioners may by resolution redefine the electoral
districts; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held on this date, after ten
(10) days notice was given; and
WHEREAS, in keeping with the doctrine of one person-one vote,
the Board of Commissioners feels that it is necessary to redefine the
electoral districts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of
Commissioners as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3 of the Resolution altering the
structure of the Board adopted on June 26, 1989, is amended by
deleting the present provisions and inserting in lieu thereof the
following:
3. Maps showing the boundaries of the four (4)
single-member districts are available for public inspection
at the office of the Clerk to the Board. All references to
streets which are boundaries of a district shall mean the
middle line of the right-of-way of such street. The
districts are as follows:
DISTRICT 1: Includes all persons residing within the
boundaries of the area beginning at a point at the
intersection of Weatherspoon Street and First Street,
19
