ao~ .15 RH 581 3 The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered demolition of a County owned structure at 807 Park Avenue (Park Avenue Park). At the last Board meeting Commissioners instructed Parks & Recreation Director Bob Dowless to contact the National Park Service about possibly relocating the structure at 807 Park Avenue. County Manager William Cowan told the Board that Mr. Dowless had contacted the National Park service and they have told him this building may be relocated to another site. After some discussion, Commissioner Stafford moved to authorize Commissioners Paschal and Wicker to dispose of this building in the best interest of the County. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker Nay: None The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered a Resolution advancing scheduled octennial reappraisal. Tax Administrator Nathan Crissman explained to the Board the need for this Resolution. After some discussion Commissioner Garner moved to approve the following Resolution: RESOLUTION ADVANCING SCHEDULED OCTENNIAL REAPPRAISAL WHEREAS, the North Carolina G.S. 105-286(a) (2) authorizes a county to advance a scheduled octennial reappraisal; and WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners for Lee County desires to conduct a reappraisal of real property earlier than required by subsection (a) of said statute; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County as follows: Section 1. That Lee County shall reappraise all real property in accordance with the provisions of North Carolina G.S. 105-283 and 105-317 as of January 1, 1995, and every eighth year thereafter. Section 2. The Clerk to the Board is authorized and directed to forward promptly to the Department of Revenue a copy of this resolution. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: 3
