Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a recommendation from the Environmental <br />Affairs Board regarding the purchase and use of recycled paper <br />products. After some discussion Commissioner Reives moved for the <br />County to use discretion when ordering recycled paper products and <br />purchase whenever cost effective. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board discussed lobby furniture for the new courthouse. The <br />Finance Committee, at their last meeting, had approved oak-type <br />benches and planters for the second floor lobby area of the new <br />courthouse. No action was taken on this matter. <br />Commissioner Stafford gave the Board an update on the recently <br />established Lee County Computer/Technology Committee. No action was <br />taken on this matter. <br />The Board considered a bid approval for the remount of Lee <br />County's 1983 Type-3 Wheeled Coach Ambulance on a new chassis. <br />Warren Lee, Emergency Services Director, answered questions of the <br />Board. The following bids were received: <br />American Emergency Vehicles <br />Jefferson, NC <br />$33,600.00 <br />(1994 Ford Chassis) <br />Alternate Quote <br />Hackney & Sons <br />Washington, NC <br />Commissioner Garner moved to accept the <br />Vehicles for $32,600.00 (to be mounted <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />$32,600.00 <br />(1993 Ford Chassis) <br />$38,500.00 <br />bid from American Emergency <br />on a 1993 Ford Chassis).
