Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker Nay: None The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered a recommendation from the Environmental Affairs Board regarding the purchase and use of recycled paper products. After some discussion Commissioner Reives moved for the County to use discretion when ordering recycled paper products and purchase whenever cost effective. The Board discussed lobby furniture for the new courthouse. The Finance Committee, at their last meeting, had approved oak-type benches and planters for the second floor lobby area of the new courthouse. No action was taken on this matter. Commissioner Stafford gave the Board an update on the recently established Lee County Computer/Technology Committee. No action was taken on this matter. The Board considered a bid approval for the remount of Lee County's 1983 Type-3 Wheeled Coach Ambulance on a new chassis. Warren Lee, Emergency Services Director, answered questions of the Board. The following bids were received: American Emergency Vehicles Jefferson, NC $33,600.00 (1994 Ford Chassis) Alternate Quote Hackney & Sons Washington, NC Commissioner Garner moved to accept the Vehicles for $32,600.00 (to be mounted a vote, the results were as follows: $32,600.00 (1993 Ford Chassis) $38,500.00 bid from American Emergency on a 1993 Ford Chassis).
