boo 15 PACE 638 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />APRIL 18, 1994 <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, <br />April 18, 1994, in the Commissioners Room, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford North Carolina. Commissioners <br />present were John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; Bertha L. <br />Matthews; Nathan E. Paschal; Robert T. Reives; William C. Stafford, <br />Jr.; and Gordon A. Wicker <br />Chairperson Matthews presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />The Board reviewed the draft of the minutes of the regular April <br />4, 1994, meeting. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the minutes <br />as the official record of said meeting. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered approval of the agenda. Chairperson <br />Matthews asked the following items be added to the agenda: public <br />comments from Mr. Kim Allen and Donnie Pardue concerning the gun <br />control ordinance and Mrs. Beth Foushee for the Food Pantry; <br />Commissioner Stafford asked that item 6-L (appointing a Commissioner <br />to the Library Board of Trustees) be deleted; Commissioner Reives <br />asked that Mrs. Carolyn Spivey from the Coalition to Improve the <br />Quality of Life in Lee County be recognized; County Attorney K. R. <br />Hoyle asked that item 6-0 be changed to call for a public hearing <br />instead of approval of Crown Cable's basic service, equipment and <br />installation rates; and County Manager William Cowan asked that an <br />Executive Session be added to discuss a personnel matter. <br />Commissioner Stafford moved to approve the agenda as printed with the <br />above additions and changes.
