0 07 <br />blow 15 Pal 654 <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the countywide water system expansion and <br />preliminary engineering report. County Manager William Cowan and <br />Commissioner William Stafford discussed the report, submitted by <br />Hobbs, Upchurch & Associates, PA, to the Board. After some <br />discussion Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the preliminary <br />engineering report and authorize Hobbs, Upchurch & Associates, PA, to <br />submit a pre-application to the Farmers Home Administration for <br />funding of the countywide water system expansion project. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives made a motion <br />contact the Board of Education and City o <br />responses from the Board of Commissioners <br />manner. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />that the County Manager <br />E Sanford and request that <br />be handled in a timely <br />follows: <br />Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered appointments to the Intervention/Prevention <br />Grant Program Task Force from the Lee County Board of Education. The <br />1994 Extra Session of the General Assembly appropriated $12,000,000 <br />from recurring funds to establish an Intervention/Prevention Grant <br />Program for North Carolina school children. The Board is being asked <br />to nominate individuals for the Task Force. After some discussion <br />Chairperson Matthews appointed Commissioners Reives and Stafford to <br />make recommendations for the Task Force. Commissioner Garner moved <br />to accept the recommendation for Commissioners Reives and Stafford to <br />make recommendations for the Intervention/Prevention Grant Program <br />Task Force. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to go into executive session to <br />discuss land acquisition and economic development expansion.
