County Manager William Cowan and <br />Commissioner William Stafford discussed the report, submitted by <br />Hobbs, Upchurch & Associates, PA, to the Board. After some <br />discussion Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the preliminary <br />engineering report and authorize Hobbs, Upchurch & Associates, PA, to <br />submit a pre-application to the Farmers Home Administration for <br />funding of the countywide water system expansion project. The <br />1994 Extra Session of the General Assembly appropriated $12,000,000 <br />from recurring funds to establish an Intervention/Prevention Grant <br />Program for North Carolina school children. The Board is being asked <br />to nominate individuals for the Task Force. After some discussion <br />Chairperson Matthews appointed Commissioners Reives and Stafford to <br />make recommendations for the Task Force. Commissioner Garner moved <br />to accept the recommendation for Commissioners Reives and Stafford to <br />make recommendations for the Intervention/Prevention Grant Program <br />Task Force.
