8~io 1~ rr:s_ 681 12 <br />WHEREAS: Each of these three counties could benefit from jointly <br />developing and implementing a comprehensive Community-Based <br />Corrections Plan for the 11th Judicial District. <br />® NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br />The Lee County Board of Commissioners agrees to work in <br />conjunction with the Boards of Commissioners from Harnett and <br />Johnston Counties to ensure that the following eligibility <br />requirements for a multi-county initiative under the NC State- <br />County Criminal Justice Partnership Act are duly realized: <br />(1) Ensure through adoption of similar resolutions, that all <br />three counties comprising the 11th Judicial District agree <br />in principle to jointly develop a comprehensive Community- <br />Based Corrections Plan and agree in advance to jointly <br />apply for the technical assistance and funding necessary <br />to implement the plan; and <br />(2) Ensure creation of a Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory <br />Board for the 11th Judicial District which shall be <br />comprised of appointed members from throughout the <br />tri-county region and which shall have the following <br />powers and duties: <br />(a) To conduct the planning process for development of a <br />comprehensive community-based corrections plan for <br />the 11th Judicial District; <br />• (b) To submit the plan to the appropriate Boards of <br />County Commissioners for approval within one year of <br />the last appointment to the Advisory Board; <br />(c) To review and revise the plan on a continual basis <br />and make formal recommendations annually to the <br />appropriate Boards of County Commissioners concerning <br />its implementation and operation for the ensuing <br />year; and <br />(d) To monitor and evaluate the impact of any Community- <br />Based Corrections Programming already in existence or <br />implemented under the NC State-County Criminal Justice <br />Partnership Act and prepare semi-annual written <br />reports with recommendations for the appropriate <br />Boards of County Commissioners. <br />Adopted this the 16th day of May, 1994, by the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners in a regular public meeting in Sanford, North Carolina. <br />e~ ~ Z'n P_ " <br />Bertha L.
