The communication has been very poor.
If we can improve that I think we'll be able to work much more
harmoniously.
COMMISSIONER WICKER - We are financing some of this, we should
be told some of these things. I don't think there should be anything
held back, I think everything should be brought out and let us know
where everything stands.
JERRY LAWRENCE - I couldn't agree more.
COMMISSIONER GARNER - How much money did you say we got from the
feds on Phase I?
JERRY LAWRENCE - A million two
COMMISSIONER GARNER - Why did we not get the million seven
ninety-six that was in the letter of July 31, 1991, from Mr. Sam
Hunt? All other figures in that letter correspond with the figures
in the letter a year later.
JERRY LAWRENCE - (No answer given)
COMMISSIONER REIVES - Didn't you do a land revision of 1.5
million, I think the City and County came up with $300,000 and the
state grant was 1.2.
FRED HOBBS - There has not been made to the County yet a grant
for site preparation - it may be the number you referred to earlier
in the subsequent letter from Mr. Hunt. This is Phase I of the site
preparation - they use that term because it was always anticipated by
the state to site prep the project in multiple phases.
COMMISSIONER GARNER - In light of the fact that in the recent
issue of the NC Aviation Authority Association, it indicates that the
North Carolina Division of Aviation DOT has been advised that the
block grant amount for 1994 probably not exceed four million dollars.
And we are going to get two million of that?
FRED HOBBS - I don't know that we will get. Some conversations
are going on with the Division of Aviation in Raleigh and Atlanta
ADO. What has happened nationally is there was a reduction in the
block grant program that as I believe cut the funds 25-35%
nationally. The North Carolina office has been advised by the
Atlanta ADO, that handles the southern region, that they would
A
7
