Commissioner Reives moved to approve receipt of <br />North Carolina Department of Transportation Funds entitled Rural <br />General Public Allocation Plan for FY 1994-95 in the amount of <br />$7,248.00. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from the Railroad House <br />Historical Association for a $2,500.00 contribution to be used for a <br />history and architectural book of Lee County. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Reives moved to refer the matter to the Finance <br />Committee for further consideration. Lee <br />Camp 803 to place a portrait of General Robert E. Lee in the new <br />courthouse. After some discussion Commissioner Paschal moved that <br />the General Robert E. Lee Camp 803 be allowed to place a portrait of <br />General Robert E. Lee (for whom the county is nam~dfor) in the new <br />courthouse. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives discussed with the Board the possibility of <br />building one new building in the county to replace some of the <br />old/out grown buildings and place several agencies under one roof, <br />such as what was done at the Government Center a few years ago. <br />After some discussion it was decided to refer the matter to the <br />Building, Grounds & Utilities Committee for consideration. <br />The next item on the agenda was an executive session to discuss <br />a legal and contractual matter. County Manager William Cowan asked <br />the Board to allow Clerk of the Works Allen Capps to be present for <br />the discussion.
