Tax Administrator Dwane Brinson stated that Tax Management Associates has
been auditing Lee County business accounts greater than $50,000 for several years. The County
currently uses several of TMA's products in addition to auditing services, one being the new online
business listing application presented and approved in December 2010. The Discovery Program is a
product where TMA canvasses the county, verifies businesses and provides an estimated assessment
of these unlisted businesses to the county tax office at which time these businesses are then placed on
the county tax books. It was noted that TMA would charge 45% for discovery contracts and audit
services would remain at 30 %.
