Boar: 24 F.,-LE 66 <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />COUNTY OF LEE <br />PROCLAMATION OF A <br />STATE OF EMERGENCY <br />The following <br />represented b <br />y <br />Jurisdiction(s): <br />Proclamation is issued by the following <br />the lead elected official or designee <br />CITY OF SANFORD <br />OFFICE OF THE MAYOR <br />elected bodies as <br />for the following <br />➢ Chair of the Lee County Board of County Commissioners <br />Mayor of the City of Sanford <br />WHEREAS, information from the office of the Lee County Emergency Services <br />will indicate that a hazardous situation is affecting the population within our <br />County and City; <br />WHEREAS, this hazardous event has been named, Tornado of April 16, 2011 by <br />Lee County Office of Emergency Services or another credible source; <br />WHEREAS, said event, is capable of causing widespread and severe damage; <br />and further, that such conditions are beginning to occur or have a high likelihood <br />of occurring in the near future, and /or are likely to worsen, and that such <br />conditions may exist in the County of Lee and The City of Sanford for an <br />indefinite period of time; and <br />WHEREAS, the hazardous conditions associated with Tornado of April 16, 2011 <br />are such as to constitute an imminent threat of widespread or severe damage, <br />injury or loss of life or property; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority contained in Article 1 of N.C.G.S. <br />Chapter 166A, Article 36A of N.C.G.S. Chapter 14, and pertinent chapters of <br />
