0 002 <br />Boot 15 mu 841 <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Garner gave a report on a recent Arts Center <br />Committee meeting which was held in County Manager William Cowan's <br />office on September 27, 1994. The Committee is requesting that a <br />study on "uses for arts" be completed and delay action on the Lee <br />County Arts Center building for 30-60 days. After much discussion <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to grant a 60 day extension to the Arts <br />Committee with a report due back to the Board of Commissioners at the <br />first meeting in December. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: Reives <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to <br />one vote. <br />The Board considered a resolution submitted by the Lee County <br />Board of Education regarding the transfer of up to $288,550.00 from <br />the local current expense fund balance to capital outlay for the East <br />and West Lee Middle School projects. Commissioner Stafford moved to <br />approve the following resolution with a stipulation that by the next <br />Board meeting on October 17, 1994, there will be an agreement worked <br />out between the Lee County Manager and the Lee County Board of <br />Education on what the appropriate fund balance for the Lee County <br />Board of Education should be: <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Education is responsible for <br />complying with all State laws and policies, and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Education has been instructed <br />by the Lee County Board of Commissioners to fund a portion of new <br />construction at East Lee and West Lee Middle Schools from Current <br />Expense Fund Balance, and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Education adopted a budget <br />prior to the opening of construction bids. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of <br />Education requests approval from the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners to transfer up to $288,550.00 from the Board of <br />Education's Local Current Expense Fund Balance to pay for increased <br />construction cost at East Lee and West Lee Middle Schools. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />2 <br />
