15 PALE <br />'pip 'Fl Z4EPE (LIIrttIIttrb of V II11t2ttiSSiLTYYErB <br />prarlamatilan <br />NOVEMBER, 1994, AS NATIONAL HOSPICE MONTH <br />WHEREAS, hospice volunteers and staff provide a special kind of caring for those in our <br />community who are terminally ill; and <br />WHEREAS, hospices helped meet the medical, emotional and spiritual needs of more than <br />275,000 terminally ill adults and children across the Nation lest year along; and <br />WHEREAS, hospice focuses on the entire family; and <br />WHEREAS, hospice in the united states has flourished from one program in 1974, to more <br />than 2,000 today; and <br />WHEREAS, hospice celebrates its twentieth anniversary in America this year; and <br />WHEREAS, hospice has served the people of Lee County since 1986; and <br />WHEREAS, an increase in public awareness and understanding of hospice care will better <br />serve the families of our community who are faced with a terminal ittness. <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Lee County, North Carolina, will join the hundreds of <br />Cities, Counties and States in observing the month of November as National Hospice Month in <br />Lee Canty, North Carolina. We will actively encourage the support and participation of <br />friends, neighbors, colleagues, and fellow citizens in associated hospice activities and <br />programs now and throughout the year. <br />PTED THIS 177H DAY OF OCTOBER, 1994. <br />Bertha L.
