ma 15 PACE 864 005 <br />18-24, 1994, to be FARM-CITY WEEK; and we do further call upon all <br />citizens of this County to participate to the limit of their <br />capabilities in the joint visits, seminars, pageants, fairs, and <br />civic and social events associated with a successful FARM-CITY WEEK <br />in the county of Lee. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a proclamation from the Employment Security <br />commission proclaiming November 6-12, 1994, as EMPLOY A VET WEEK in <br />Lee County. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle read the proclamation aloud. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to approve the following: <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, our community has been built with the help of veterans <br />who served their country during peace and war and kept our democracy <br />safe; and <br />WHEREAS, these men and women are mature, dependable employees, <br />and are returning to our community seeking a job; and <br />WHEREAS, veterans are an important part of our daily lives. <br />They enhance our work force with their experience and skills, and <br />should be given special consideration for employment; and <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting that a period of time be set aside to <br />honor our military work force. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Lee County Board of Commissioners do hereby <br />proclaim November 6-12, 1994, as <br />EMPLOY A VET WEEK <br />in Lee County and commend this observance to all citizens, and urge <br />the employment of veterans by North Carolina's businesses. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dossenbach, Garner, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />5 <br />
