She also told the Committee that to preserve prime <br />farmland no taps larger than a residential three-quarter inch will be <br />allowed in soil classified as farm land. A larger tap will be <br />allowed if this route is designated as a "growth corridor". The <br />survey is now being completed and should be finalized by the end of <br />this month. Mr. Cole told the Board he was currently working on a <br />committee made up of approximately seven individuals to establish <br />these "growth corridors" and it should be submitted to Farmers Home <br />by the first of January, 1995. Ms. Ponds feels we may be funded by <br />early Spring, 1995, and the current tentative schedule is to hold a <br />bond referendum in March, 1995. Ms. Ponds suggested the referendum <br />be held for the full amount of the project which would be <br />approximately $9.2 million (Phase I and Phase II). Approximate <br />beginning construction date for the project is early 1996, and <br />hopefully be completed by late 1996 and early 1997. No action was <br />taken on the matter. <br />Chairperson Matthews appointed Commissioner Elect Jimmie Cox to <br />serve on the Land Use Planning Committee (Water System Study) and <br />work with Public Works Director Kenny Cole to establish "growth <br />corridors" in the County. <br />The Board considered budget amendment # <br />Director Lisa Minter was present and answered <br />Commissioner Stafford moved to approve <br />11/07/94/06, a copy of which is attached to t <br />reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, <br />follows: <br />11/07/94/06. County Manager William Cowan told the Board the <br />Hillcrest Group Home facility, which is located in a county owned <br />building at 205 Hillcrest Drive, has notified him they will be <br />vacating the home in November. At the last Building, Grounds & <br />Utilities Committee meeting Mr. Cowan was instructed to look into <br />renting or leasing the facility. After some discussion Commissioner <br />Stafford moved to table the matter.
