Upon returning, the <br />meeting resumed with all members present. <br />The Board heard a report on the recent Household Hazardous Waste <br />Day held on November 5, 1994, at the Lee County Civic Center. <br />Recycling Coordinator John Payne told the Board the event was very <br />successful and over 31,000 pounds of waste was collected. He hopes <br />to sponsor another event sometime next year. No action was taken on <br />the matter. <br />The Board considered a grant application request for the <br />optimist Park. Recreation Director Bob Dowless told the Board he <br />wished to submit a Notifications of Intent to Apply for Assistance <br />to pursue a grant for the Optimist Park through the Parks and <br />Recreation Trust Fund. After some discussion Commissioner Stafford <br />moved to approve the filing of Notifications of Intent to Apply for <br />Assistance forms with the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard a report from Youth Services Director Todd <br />Edwards concerning the Criminal Justice Program. No action was taken <br />on the matter. <br />The Board considered a request from Youth Services to purchase a <br />van. Youth Services Director Todd Edwards told the Board his <br />department had received projected expansion monies from the state for <br />the purchase of a 12-passenger van at a State contract price of <br />$16,768.00. After much discussion Commissioner Reives moved to <br />approve the bid for a 12-passenger van for Youth Services at a cost <br />of $16,768.00. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered Tax Releases and Refunds for October, 1994. <br />Tax Administrator Nathan Crissman was present and answered questions <br />of the Board. Commissioner Stafford moved to approve the Tax <br />Releases and Refunds for October, 1994. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />6 <br />
