R. Hoyle told the Board that each year they are <br />required, by General Statute, to examine bonds for the following <br />individuals: <br />- Sheriff <br />- Register of Deeds <br />- Every other officer of the county who is required by <br />law to give a bond for the faithful performance of the <br />duties of his/her office, which in our case are: <br />- Tax Assessor <br />- Finance Officer <br />- Any employee who handles $100.00 or more at any one <br />time <br />After some discussion commissioner Dossenbach moved to approve bonds <br />for the above Lee County employees. Upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard a preliminary facility analysis study from Mr. <br />Steven Schuster of Clearscapes, P.A. in Raleigh, North Carolina, <br />concerning a feasibility study of space and needs for the arts in Lee <br />County. After much discussion, following Mr. Schuster's report, <br />Commissioner Stafford moved to grant the Lee County Arts Council an <br />additional 90 days to present a plan to the Board and six months to <br />complete the study they are currently working on and see if they can <br />obtain contributions or funding to renovate the Arts Center. At the <br />end of six months County Manager William Cowan is to have bids <br />available for demolition of the Lee County Arts Center.
